March 24 - 2009: Sponsored travel opportunity to Taiwan for American professor
The Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in Houston has been entrusted to invite an American professor to visit Taiwan and do some Taiwan-related research as a “Taiwan Research Scholar”. If this scholar is interested in visiting and doing some Taiwan-related research, the Ministry of Education will pay for a round trip economy class airfare (to and from Taiwan), and offer an allowance of $200 USD per diem for up to 21 days. Applicants must identify a host university/institute in Taiwan prior to the visit, and to present a proposal to show the study plan, which specifies the research subject and direction (any subject as long as it is related with Taiwan), a resume, and an invitation from a host university. After the visit, the scholar also needs to write a report about the research project on Taiwan to be submitted to the Ministry of Education. If you are interested, please contact Randy Kluver at the Institute for Pacific Asia, rkluver@tamu.edu or 845-3099.
