May 7 - 2009: IPA Coordinates International Leadership Excursion Program for Corp of Cadets 2009
The Institute for Pacific Asia in conjunction with the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets have established a summer leadership emersions program, to entice future ROTC Cultural and Language Study Aboard participation. It is the goal of this program to engage Corps of Cadet leadership, in the recruitment and retention of future ROTC Language and Culture scholarship recipients. The program will consist of a 12 day trip to China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, for 10 members of a preselected group of Corp Leadership. The leadership team was selected by the IPA Director and Asst. Commandant for the Corp of Cadets, for the all expense paid cultural emersion trip. This program will be directed at providing cultural awareness for contracted cadets. And will consist of a visit to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, and Honk Kong, in addition to a visit to Ocean University of China to explore their Naval ROTC program, and other global initiatives. Beginning May 19, 2009, this program will be a paramount opportunity for study aboard and the Corps of Cadets to advance the globalization of Aggies into its timeless traditions.
