May 7 - 2009: Chinese Community Class Ceritifies a New Group of Graduates
The Chinese language and culture class which began on February 5th, 2009, will certify its graduates at their final class on the evening of May 7, 2009. This introduction to mandarin, is a non-credit baring course which is provided free of charge to the Brazos Valley community by the Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University. This course is provided bi-annually, and focuses on basic conversational Chinese and cultural competence. The course is taught by an experienced visiting scholar from Ocean University of China, Ms. Ying Wang. In addition to the community class Ms. Wang teaches Chinese 202 for Texas A&M students on campus. 18 community class participants will receive their certificate of completion, presented by the Confucius Institute at Texas A&M.
