August 4 2008 - Student Organizations Host NiHowdy Olympics at Texas A&M University

 

August 4, 2008, College Station, TX – Approximately 80 students from Texas A&M University and Blinn College participated in the 'NiHowdy Olympics' last Saturday (Aug 2) at the Recreation Center at A&M. The event, co-hosted by the Student Government Association (SGA) and Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) at A&M, was another effort to raise donations for the victims of the earthquake in Sichuan, China.

Students played games of basketball, badminton, ping pong and dodge ball, in addition to enjoying two free meals, lots of door prizes and awards for the tournaments.

CSSA set up an Olympic Cultural Display at the REC which showcased some beautiful images of China, shared information on the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and distributed lovely Olympic keepsakes.
