CHINA

The Growing Global Influence - China’s history dates back 2100 BC and is one of  the few civilizations to invent writing independently.  The State Department of the United States has recently declared Chinese, along with Japanese and Korean, as ‘Critical Languages’.  Chinese is becoming critical in the global market place and learning Chinese is a sure skill to have in the future of almost all business.  Right after Canada, the US gets most of its imports from China.  Chinese philosophers, writers, and poets were highly respected, and played key roles in preserving and promoting the culture of the empire.

 

INDIA

India is the most populous democracy in the world and has the 4th largest economy based on purchasing power. Overall, both China and India’s GDP will grow at an annualized rate of at least 6%.  India’s top trading partner is the US.  With the 4th largest coal reserves in the world, India has a grasp on energy reserves for its future.  Its large, skilled workforce makes it a popular choice for international companies seeking to outsource work.  India will continue to grow as an important US partner especially since agreeing to share nuclear information.

 

SINGAPORE

Chinese make up more than 75% of the community in Singapore; Malays and Indians make up much of the remainder and there are many foreign workers.  Singapore is often referred to as one of Asia's economic "tigers". Its economy is driven by electronics manufacturing and financial services.  Singapore is a regional pioneer of high-definition and mobile TV services. The government's multi-million dollar "Media 21" blueprint aims to turn the country into a regional hub for the digital media industry and to create thousands of new jobs in the sector.

 

KOREA

Worldwide, there are around 80 million Korean speakers.  Korea is becoming a reliable partner for international investors, and South Korea has developed into one of Asia's most affluent countries and a leading exporter of cars, such as Hyundai.  South Korea is at the leading edge of the digital revolution. It is a trailblazer for high-speed and wireless internet services and has pioneered the distribution of TV via mobile devices. Online gaming is a national passion.
